Youth Union, stars celebrate winter with Lao Cai concert

VietNamNet Bridge – Nearly 4,000 young people will participate on Saturday in the biggest ever musical event to come to the northwestern province of Lao Cai.

Organised by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee and its partners, the event Warm Winter will feature music and dance performances by well-known singers such as Thai Thuy Linh, To Minh Thang and Siu Black, and young performers from the Hanoi-based National Music and Dance Theatre.

The artists will perform songs and dances in praise of love for country and people by musicians Nguyen Ngoc Thien, Bao Phuc and Nguyen Cuong.

VietNamNet Bridge – For the first time, two big IT contests for students will be held by the Vietnam Information Processing Association in Da Nang to help Vietnamese students improve their English and IT skills.

From November 9-12, Da Nang city in the central region will be the destination of around 1,000 IT students from 100 colleges and universities in Vietnam and 20 foreign teams. They will descend on the city for the Asian qualifier round of the international programming contest named ACM/ICPC and the Olympic IT contest.

Dang Minh Thu, the second runner-up of Miss Vietnam Global 2007 pageant contest

VietNamNet Bridge – As Ngo Phuong Lan, Miss Vietnam Global 2007, has refused to attend the Miss World 2007 pageant contest, the two remaining candidates for this contest are the first runner-up Teressa Sam and the second runner-up Dang Minh Thu.

Anyone who watched the Miss Vietnam Global 2007 final night shares the same viewpoint that the first runner-up is more outstanding than the second runner-up in every respect, from height, appearance, knowledge, experience, performing ability and especially English.
